“Jake was incredible! 12/10 stars Sorry, my review might be a little long, but it’s worth it! My goal was to install an RV access at the side of my house. I was in a time crunch with life and work and tried renting a bobcat myself to get the work done. After a couple of failed attempts and people falling through, my wife found Derner Enterprise on Facebook. I was skeptical - and absolutely wrong. I messaged Derner on Facebook, and within minutes we exchanged numbers. Immediately we started texting and less than an hour later Jake was on my project location giving me a free estimate. I was looking to have him initially do the grading/soil work on my property and I would do the base and top layer on what we were trying to achieve. He’s extremely friendly, optimistic and friendly. Not many contractors have this rep. He’s incredibly personable. Seriously, just try contacting him - once you do my whole review is obsolete. After taking with him he asked if he could also help with the other portions of the project. I initially wasn’t planning this. Again, with a free estimate, he went back home and within an hour or so sent me various estimates on the amount of labor he was able to provide but what was really impressive was he was texting my wife and I the various media and material options along with the pricing and pictures on what we could do in the space we were working on. The communication is top notch. He wasn’t salesy or pushy what so ever, and provided costs, which I found to be very fair. I’m SO GLAD that we hired Jake to perform the work. His attention to detail is incredible. There was so many small details that I would have failed to see had I did the work myself. He used his laser equipment and his keen eye and helped grade my landscape to drain away from my pool and other potential hazards without me even having to mention it. He communicated through phone and text consistently. And honestly, I would not have saved much money attempting this myself. It saves me time, money, stress, and a whole world of hurt. My project came out 100% I didn’t have him assist with the finishing border work because my wife and I didn’t know what we wanted/needed - but I’ve already sent his information over to some friends and family currently working with Jake. Hire this guy. I didn’t get any “discounts” or any “trade labor” or anything like that writing this. I absolutely and genuinely want everyone I know and as many people I can reach to support Derner. His customer service is a lost art. He’s a stand up guy, a family man and honest! A breath of fresh air in today’s offerings.”

“Derner Enterprise did a great job on our excavation and grading project in El Dorado Hills. The owner, Jake, showed up when he said he would, got straight to work, and kept everything moving without any issues. They cleaned up the site as they went and really made sure the grading was done right, especially for drainage around the property. Everything turned out smooth, level, and ready for the foundation. Overall, really solid experience—honest work, good communication, and you can tell they take pride in what they do. I’d definitely use them again for any excavation or grading work.”

“I have been in the construction business for over 35 years. I had a friend who needed a gas line run from the LP tank to the pool heater. I looked at the job and it was very complicated, going around trees, flowerbeds, and elevated planters. It was too much for me to do, so I contacted Jake at Derner Enterprise and referred the job to him. When I went back to look at it, I was amazed at how he got the line buried and everything looked just as it had before the job was done. My friend couldn’t have been happier with the results.”

“Needed a level, graveled pad for a new storage shed I had already ordered. Derner Enterprise got it handled within the tight schedule, and at a good price. Even used the existing dirt on my acreage to build up the pad, and fill other low spots. Would definitely recommend them.”
